What Causes Extreme Dry Hair?
Your hair can get dry because your scalp doesn’t make enough oil to moisturize your hair, or your hair is damaged and lets moisture escape.
Your hair has no nutritive lubrication. It relies on oils made in the hair root to keep your hair moisturized and looking good. As you age, your hair roots naturally make less oil.
Each strand of healthy hair has a protective layer called the cuticle. When a cuticle’s layers are damaged they separate and peel away from hair, its ability to keep moisture in is lost.
Several things can damage your hair and increase dryness:
Using a harsh shampoo can strip away your hair's nutritive oils.
Blow drying your hair too often, hair straighteners or curling irons.
Lots of sun, wind, or dry air can lead to moisture loss. Chemical treatments, hair color, perms, and relaxers.
When your hair is extremely dry or damaged it is vital to use more powerful conditioners than normal.
Try a deep conditioning oil treatment once a week to restore your hair back to its healthiest. Use of leave in lotions, creams or pomades during the week helps prevent moisture loss and dryness.
Turn down the heat. Try to avoid heat as much as you possibly can.
Chemical treatments are the most common cause of hair and scalp damage. Relaxers, colors and thermal-styling tools remove precious moisture from your hair by damaging the hair's structure.
Cut your losses. Sometimes only a few inches are enough to make your hair look beautiful again and easier to manage.
Too much styling can increase hair thinning and breakage, so a more careful styling routine may also help with any hair loss.
Don't go back. Just because your hair looks and feels better doesn't mean it's not still damaged, so keep going easy on the heat and continue to do your weekly deep treatments for a few months just to be sure.

I am African American and This is a MUST-HAVE PRODUCT !!! My new growth and old growth line always had breakage at this line. Now the breakage is almost completely gone. I used a number of products before finding this one, and I will never be without it again. It smoothes frizz leaves my hair shiny and soft, and smells great.

I LOVE this product. I have very thick wavy black hair. I got a sample of this and decided to try it. I am never going without it again. I put a minimal amount on my hair, and it looks so much smoother. Whether I blow dry it or let it air dry, since I have been using it, my hair looks so much better. Give it a shot.

You gotta try this product for yourself. My daughter had hair to her bottom and if it hadn't been for this product she wouldn't have been able to manage hair that long for as long as she did. It is NOT a styling product it is a conditioner, so it has to be combed through thoroughly. Your hair will feel crunchy if you use too much. If you have used this product before and had trouble it's because you're using too much. This product repairs split ends almost instantly too.

This hair oil has saved my hair from drying and breaking. My stylist even noticed a difference in the condition of my hair after I started using it. I use it every day.

I am a licensed hairdresser and as such have access to many hair oil treatments. This oil for black hair has remained at the top of my list as far as hair treatment products go. I am promised shiny, healthy hair that does not break easily nor frizz uncontrollably. If it is too heavy for your hair you can put some of this into a spray bottle and add some water to dilute the formula but I use this full strength.

They should change the name of this stuff to "Miracle in a Bottle!" I had a bad treatment job done by a so-called"professional" and my hair looked and felt like straw. My new growth was burnt. I received this days after this They should change the name of this stuff to "Miracle in a Bottle!" I had a bad treatment job done by a so-called disaster

I have very thick, over processed, dry hair. I was not sure if this would work. It made my hair softer, and more manageable, actually smoothed the appearance of my hair, and added a nice shine to it. I even had a friend ask what I was doing to my hair because of the change in its appearance. A little goes a long way too.
