When your hair is extremely dry or damaged it is vital to use more powerful conditioners than normal.
Try a deep conditioning oil treatment once a week to restore your hair back to its healthiest. Use of leave in lotions, creams or pomades during the week helps prevent moisture loss and dryness.
Turn down the heat. Try to avoid heat as much as you possibly can.
Chemical treatments are the most common cause of hair and scalp damage. Relaxers, colors and thermal-styling tools remove precious moisture from your hair by damaging the hair's structure.
Cut your losses. Sometimes only a few inches are enough to make your hair look beautiful again and easier to manage.
Too much styling can increase hair thinning and breakage, so a more careful styling routine may also help with any hair loss.
Don't go back. Just because your hair looks and feels better doesn't mean it's not still damaged, so keep going easy on the heat and continue to do your weekly deep treatments for a few months just to be sure.
